The market is saturated with generic products with subtherapeutic doses or without standardisation. Here are the non-negotiable criteria:
1. Standardised extract (not root powder)
Look on the label for:
- "Panax ginseng C.A. Meyer extract" (complete botanical name)
- Standardised to X% total ginsenosides (minimum 3%, ideal 5-8%)
- Extraction ratio (e.g. 10:1 means 10kg of root → 1kg of extract)
If it only says "ginseng root powder" without standardisation, you don't know how many active ingredients you're taking.
